Areas of Responsibility

MISSION ADVANCEMENT

1. Identify the areas where the mission is expressed through the program
a. Use of biblical stories in daily activities
b. Selection of camp songs with spiritual content
c. Maximizing relationships between camp staff and campers
d. Seeking signs of God’s presence in nature and relationships

2. Illustrate how specific activities further the mission of Pathways
a. Welcoming activities
b. Counselor-led bible study groups
c. Canoe trips and overnights
d. Campfires
e. Singing
f. Group activities and games
g. Canteen
h. Etc.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

1. Select program content that relates to the Pathways mission
a. Build on biblical themes
b. Select age-appropriate materials and activities for various settings
2. Build an annual program calendar with weeks of summer camp, day camps, and retreats

PATHWAYS PROMOTION

1. Represent Pathways in congregations and synodical gatherings
2. Coordinate program promotion on social media outlets
3. Recruit summer staff for program positions
4. Maintain contact with former staff to encourage ongoing program leadership

MANAGEMENT OF PROGRAM STAFF

1. Coordinate staff selection with Executive Director
2. Design and lead staff training
3. Supervise program staff to ensure program delivery aligns with the mission
4. Engage visiting pastors and youth workers in program leadership
5. Provide a weekly written evaluation of mission achievement

CONTINUING EDUCATION

1. Attend one or more annual conferences on outdoor ministries

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 per year
