Due to very low registration Pathways has been forced to cancel the Pathways Village Program that had been scheduled for August 16-20. Pathways will continue to look for other kinds of opportunities to offer programming for adults and families. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Families of all descriptions, folks of all ages have the opportunity to choose which days work best for them during the five days offered for a time away for fun and relaxation while exploring and sharing faith together.
Village Theme for 2017: Wet, Wild and Reforming Wet: The Lake; The Emmaus summer theme of The Water of Life centered in water images in scripture.
Wild: The Natural Setting, opportunities coordinated each day by Pr Frank Johnson to Hike (including orienteering challenges), Pedal or Paddle ; wilderness times in life and faith journeys.
Reforming: We are living into the 500th anniversary of the
Reformation to be a reforming church; anchored in the gospel, we are listening to God’s call to shape the church and our lives of faith anew in the 21st century.
Key Note Speakers
There will be several optional times each day for learning and reflection on a variety of topics including a session each day that pertains to Theology and Bible, Faith and Life.
Rev. Jodi Houge
Jodi Houge is pastor of a new non-traditional church plant, Humble Walk Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Humble Walk is filled with people on the last train out of Christianity-who have decided to give it one more go. Jodi will lead sessions Wed-Sat. on the Themes: Reforming Church (then and now), Stories of Hope from a new church, Storytelling 101, Public Church.
Nate Houge, Jodi’s husband, is a singer/songwriter/cyclist/baker \liturgy writer who will be coordinating and sharing worship and music leadership for Pathways Village.
Bishop Larry Wohlrabe will be leading a session on Sunday on being a reforming church.
Each morning there will be supervised activities offered for children and youth during the keynote sessions. Throughout the day there will be optional activities offered for all ages and families ranging from the challenge courses to art/ crafts projects to fly fishing for trout in our Lake Morgan to waterfront activities.
